As a Caucasian American photographing in the streets of an ancient Indian city, I obviously stood out. People began approaching me and asking for "One photo please?" Photographs taken in India by foreigners often highlight cultural differences. In contrast, these pictures were initiated by the subjects who expressed a desire to communicate their images to an American audience.
